PRAIRIE VIEW – Prairie View A&M University and the PVAMU football program announced today that spring football-related activities have been postponed.

This includes all practices as well as the PVAMU Purple and Gold Spring Game, which had been initially rescheduled for April 4.

The announcement comes based upon most recent information received and latest developments in regards to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

"Of course, we want to get back out on the field and continue to get better," PVAMU Head Football Coach Eric Dooley said. "But this is something where lives are potentially at stake, and it's affecting people across the nation. This is much more important than football, and we wanted to continue to prioritize the well-being of our student-athletes as well as their families."

In addition to the guidelines provided by local and national health organizations, Panther Athletics will continue to follow the guidelines set forth by University leaders, NCAA and the SWAC regarding the remaining scheduled sporting events.

"I'm praying for the Prairie View A&M family, our student-athletes' families, and the families of those who have been affected," Dooley said. "That'll always be the case."
