PRAIRIE VIEW - The Prairie View A&M bowling team opens up the winter portion of their 2022 schedule as they participate in the Stormin' Blue & White Vegas Classic, hosted by Mount St. Mary's beginning Saturday.

Coming in with a No. 22 ranking during the preseason National Tenpin Coaches Association poll released in October, the reigning Southwestern Athletic Conference champions are part of a challenging field stocked with national title contenders. Along with the Lady Panthers, the 13-team field features nine other teams ranked in the NTCA's top 25 poll, with three of these teams among the top five: No. 1 Nebraska, No. 2 McKendree, No. 4 Vanderbilt.

Also set to compete is No. 10 Stephen F. Austin, No. 13 host team Mount St. Mary's, No. 15 Maryville, No. 16 Tulane, No. 19  Monmouth, No. 20 Maryland Eastern shore, Texas Southern and Grambling State.

 Seniors Crystal Cline has fared well during competition as well, boasting a 205.3 pin fall average, while Asia Wren is in the midst of a solid campaign, averaging a pin fall of 198.1.  Stephanie Vasquez is also one of the Lady Panthers top bowlers averaging a 180.2 pin fall count.
