Late Score Costs Prairie View A&M Against TSU Tigers

BOX SCORE HOUSTON, Texas - Saturday's game against TSU Tigers was a heartbreaker for Prairie View A&M Baseball, as they lost the lead late in an 8-4 defeat.  TSU Tigers trailed 4-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Jeffry Mercado homered on a 3-2 count, scoring three runs.

In the second inning, Prairie View A&M Baseball got their offense started.  Zachary Trevino drew a walk, scoring one run.
Abraham Deleon earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for TSU Tigers. Deleon went six innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out six.  Mateo Lamas and Josiah Castro entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Gentry Busch took the loss for PVAMU. The hurler surrendered five runs on four hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.
Victor Mendoza started the game for Prairie View A&M Baseball. Mendoza went six innings, allowing zero runs on five hits and striking out five
TSU Tigers smacked two home runs on the day. Mercado went yard in the seventh inning. Jordan Vidato had a homer in the eighth inning.
Trevino, Sebastian Coria, Alex Martinez, Garrison Weiss, Paul Castro, and Michael Burroughs all had one hit to lead Prairie View A&M Baseball.  The Panthers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Castro made the most plays with six.
TSU Tigers totaled 13 hits.  Daalen Adderley, Vidato, and Mercado all managed multiple hits for TSU Tigers.
