BOX SCORE NEW ORLEANS - Saturday's game against Jackson State was a heartbreaker for Prairie View A&M Baseball, as they lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat.  The game was tied at four with Jackson state batting in the top of the ninth when Guy singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.


Prairie View A&M Baseball got things started in the first inning when Michael Burroughs doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Jackson State evened things up at four in the top of the seventh inning.  Hill doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring three runs.

Prairie View A&M Baseball notched three runs in the sixth inning.  PVAMU scored its runs on a home run by Alex Martinez.

Jonah Posey got the win for Jackson state. undefined went two-thirds of an inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out two, and walking zero.  Erick Gonzales and Daelan Caraway entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.  Gonzales recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Jackson state.

Danny McKay took the loss for Prairie View A&M Baseball. McKay surrendered two runs on one hit over one and two-thirds innings.

Victor Mendoza started the game for Prairie View A&M Baseball. The bulldog surrendered one run on three hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two Christian Womble started the game for Jackson State. The fireballer surrendered four runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out seven

Prairie View A&M Baseball 23 smacked one home run on the day. Martinez had a homer in the sixth inning.

Zachary Trevino, Martinez, Paul Castro, and Burroughs each collected one hit to lead Prairie View A&M Baseball 23.  Prairie View A&M Baseball didn't commit a single error in the field. Trevino had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.

Hill led Jackson state with two hits in four at-bats.
