HOUSTON, -- In their final regular season soccer game of the year at Durley Field, Prairie View A&M University's Panthers faced off against Texas Southern on November 1, 2024, but could not clinch the win, ending the game 1-4 in favor of Texas Southern.
Prairie View fell to 1-11-4 overall and 0-4-4 in SWAC play after the defeat.
How it Happened
From the start, the Panthers showed competitive spirit, matching the pace of Texas Southern. Mya Sheridan made a standout performance with a crucial goal for PVAMU at the 18th minute, which also served as her first goal of the season. Texas Southern tied the game in the 37th minute, ending the first half at 1-1. Goalkeeper Medinat Lawal also displayed impressive skills guarding the Panthers' net throughout the event.
Despite a strong start, the second half saw Texas Southern take control, adding three more goals to their tally. The game ended with a final score of 4-1.

The Lady Panthers will move into the post-season, competing in the SWAC Soccer Tournament that willl take place from November 7-10. After tonight's game, the team takes the 8th seed to compete in the tournament that will be hosted at home at the PVAMU Soccer Complex. They will compete against the Lady Tigers of Texas Southern, the 1st seeded team, again on Thursday, November 7 at 10:00 am.
