GREELEY, CO --  In a high-intensity encounter at the Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley, CO, the Prairie View A&M Panthers were outpaced by the Northern Colorado Bears, 114-98, despite the loss, standout performances from Panther players highlighted the evening as they fought valiantly in a game filled with thrilling assists and significant turnovers.

 By halftime, the Panthers trailed with a score of 41-55. The game intensified in the later quarters, showcasing close plays and intense scoring efforts. Nick Anderson led the Panthers with a remarkable 32 points, supported by Jordan Tillmon's 22 points and Marcel Bryant's 17 points, who also contributed 6 rebounds, 1 block, and a steal. Additionally, players like Orlando Horton Jr. showcased defensive prowess with 4 steals.

The game's high stakes were accentuated in the second half as Prairie View A&M rallied, attempting to close the gap against Northern Colorado. Despite their efforts and the challenging plays and dynamic turns of the game, the Panthers could not surmount the early deficit.  Prairie View A&M did an excellent job taking care of the basketball, dishing out nine assists while turning the ball over four times. Bryant's two assists paced the Panthers.  

Prairie View A&M did a great job disrupting Northern Colorado shots in the contest, coming away with five blocks. Ryan Bolton Jr. led the way individually for the Panthers with two rejections.

Looking ahead, the Panthers are gearing up to face Texas A&M Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, with a 3:30 tip-off. With a current season record of 1-5, the Prairie View A&M team is eager to regroup and look for opportunities to turn their fortunes around in the upcoming games.

How It Happened

Prairie View A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 55-41 heading into halftime.

Northern Colorado kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 74-58 advantage before Prairie View A&M went on a 6-0 run, finished off by Bolton Jr.'s layup, to shrink the deficit to 74-64 with 12:25 to go in the contest. Northern Colorado responded and outscored the Panthers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 114-98. Prairie View A&M took care of business in the paint, recording 36 of its 57 points in the lane.
