Prairie View A&M rallies from sixth-inning deficit to knock off Texas Southern 8-6

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers fought back from down 6-4 in the sixth inning to defeat the Texas Southern Tigers 8-6 Saturday.

Senior Victor Mendoza (2-3) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Prairie View A&M (12-13, 4-1). The right-hander went 4.2 innings, giving up two runs, zero earned, on two hits, allowing four walks and striking out five.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 6-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the sixth inning. Prairie View A&M's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a one-run off the bat of junior Jadin Moreno.

The Panthers kept the deficit at 6-4 before taking the lead in the seventh. The Prairie View A&M offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a three-run home run off the bat of Moreno, which brought the Panthers lead to 8-6. The score remained 8-6 for the rest of the game, as Prairie View A&M held on for the win. 82 100 17 8 8
