Bravo records 5 strikeouts in Prairie View A&M's 9-3 win over Huston-Tillotson

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --Junior Leonardo Bravo registered five strikeouts in five innings of work in the Prairie View A&M Panthers 9-3 victory over the Huston-Tillotson Rams on Tuesday.

In addition to his five strikeouts, Bravo (4-2) went five innings, giving up three runs, all of them earned, on five hits and walking five for Prairie View A&M (13-14). Sophomore Jaime Baldwin also made an impact on the mound for the Panthers, throwing two shutout innings while allowing one hit, with no walks and two strikeouts.

In the batter's box, the Panthers were led by freshman Garland Parker, who went 1-for-1 on the day with a home run and two RBI. Junior Tyran Norris compiled a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Junior Mason Heiskell also helped out for Prairie View A&M, putting together two hits in two trips to the plate while adding an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers were trailing 3-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Junior Jayden Williams came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M and get them on the board.

The Panthers kept the Rams off the board before narrowing the gap further in the fourth. Norris came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M, which tightened the Rams lead to 3-2.

Prairie View A&M kept the Rams off the scoreboard before rallying to snatch a 4-3 lead in the fifth.

Prairie View A&M held the Rams scoreless before their offense got things moving the next inning. The Panthers scored five runs in the inning, highlighted by a two-run home run off the bat of Parker, bringing the Prairie View A&M advantage to 9-3. The score remained 9-3 for the rest of the game, as the Panthers coasted to the win.
