CORPUS CHRISTI, TX --The Prairie View A&M Panthers struggled on Tuesday, falling to the Texas A&M-CC Islanders by final score of 10-3.

Freshman Preston Allen (0-3) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (13-19) and took the loss. Junior Matthew Krall was a bright spot for the Panthers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing two shutout innings, allowing two hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 2-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the third inning. Senior Benjamin Ybarra came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M and get them on the board.

The Islanders expanded their lead to 4-1 before the Panthers offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the sixth. Prairie View A&M scored once on an RBI single off the bat of sophomore Michael Burroughs, which tightened the Islanders lead to 4-2.

Texas A&M-CC built their lead to 10-2 before the Prairie View A&M offense got going, reducing that lead to 10-3 in the ninth. The ballgame ended with that ninth inning rally falling short.
