Bush leads Panthers with win against Grambling;

GRAMBLING, La. --Prairie View A&M received contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, helping the Panthers put 11 runs on the board and knock off the Grambling Tigers 11-8 Saturday.

Junior Matthew Krall (5-1) got the win for Prairie View A&M (25-24, 14-9). The right-hander went four innings, giving up five runs, all of them earned, on four hits, allowing three walks and striking out two.

Offensively, the Panthers were paced by junior Trenton Bush, who went 2-for-5 on the day with three RBI. Sophomore Michael Burroughs put together a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Junior Tyran Norris also helped out for Prairie View A&M, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding two RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the top of the first inning. Prairie View A&M's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a one-run groundout off the bat of Bush.

The Panthers then lost some of their lead, expanding on their advantage in the fourth inning after the Tigers cut it to 4-2. Bush came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M, which brought the score to 5-2 in favor of the Panthers.

Prairie View A&M held Grambling without a run before expanding their lead to 10-2 the following inning. The Panthers bats heated up in the inning, scoring five runs, including a two-run single off the bat of Bush.

The Tigers gained ground, closing the gap to 10-8 until Prairie View A&M added some insurance in the eighth. Junior Garrison Weiss crossed home plate with the lone run of the inning for the Panthers, bringing the score to 11-8 in favor of Prairie View A&M. The score remained 11-8 for the rest of the game, as the Panthers held on for the win.
