HUNTSVILLE, TX - Prairie View A&M volleyball team lost to the Incarnate Word Cardinals 3-1 (15-25, 25-16, 22-25, 12-25) Saturday at home at Baby Dome.
The non-conference loss moved Prairie View A&M to 0-3 on the season.
The Lady Panthers were led by a double-double from Kylee Owens, who registered 12 kills and 16 digs on the day. D'Mya Hill also added 11 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Leila Smalls chipped in for with 13 digs to go with five blocks from Iyonna Sherwood.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Panthers found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-15. Prairie View A&M trailed by as many as 10 points as Incarnate Word grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was knotted up two times before the Cardinals took control.
SET 2 | Prairie View A&M tied the match at 1-1 with a 25-16 set-two win. The Lady Panthers led from the first point in the set to win. Prairie View A&M opened up as much as an 11-point lead at 20-9 before finishing the set. The Lady Panthers hit .444 throughout the set. Prairie View A&M's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Incarnate Word attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Incarnate Word responded to win set number three, putting Prairie View A&M in two sets to one hole. The Lady Panthers came up short by the score of 25-22. Incarnate Word grabbed the advantage for good at 17-16 in a set tied up three times before the Cardinals took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 4 | Prairie View A&M then lost the fourth set 25-12 to finish off the match. The Lady Panthers dropped the first point and never took the lead before losing the set.
