Prairie View A&M Heads to Alabama A&M for SWAC Showdown

11/7/2025 9:16:00 AM

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Prairie View A&M Panthers hit the road this weekend to face Alabama A&M in a key Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Louis Crews Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. and will be streamed live on SWACTV.

The matchup marks the 19th meeting between the two programs, dating back to the inaugural contest in 1932. The Panthers have captured five of the last seven meetings, including their last trip to Huntsville in 2016, where PVAMU came away with a 41–20 victory.

Panthers Look to Bounce Back
Prairie View A&M (6–3, 4–1 SWAC) enters the matchup looking to rebound after a tough 31–28 loss to Alabama State last weekend at Panther Stadium. Despite a late rally, the Panthers fell just short in a back-and-forth game that featured several standout offensive performances.

Quarterback Cameron Peters and running back Chase Bingmon have continued to lead the charge for PVAMU's balanced offense, while wide receiver Jyzaiah Rockwell has emerged as a key playmaker in the passing game. Defensively, the Panthers continue to be anchored by their aggressive front, led by Kennedy Parker, have been consistently pressuring opposing quarterbacks throughout the season.

Bulldogs Seek to Defend Home Turf
Alabama A&M (4–5, 2–3 SWAC) is also looking to get back on track after a narrow 13–10 road loss to Grambling State last week. The Bulldogs' defense kept them in the contest, but a late punt-return touchdown proved to be the difference. AAMU's offense is led by quarterback Quincy Casey, while running back Donovan Eaglin provides power in the ground game.

The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home crowd for the first time in nearly a month, making this a crucial game for their postseason hopes.

What to Watch
Saturday's matchup carries major implications in the SWAC standings as both teams enter the stretch run of the season. Prairie View controls its own destiny atop the SWAC West Division, while Alabama A&M is looking to stay alive in the East Division race.

With two strong defenses, efficient quarterbacks, and playmakers on both sides, this classic Prairie View–Alabama A&M rivalry is expected to deliver another tight contest.
