Prairie View A&M falls to Grambling 6-2

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers had a tough showing on Saturday, falling to the Grambling Tigers by final score of 6-2.

Senior Seve Medrano (1-2) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (8-25, 4-7) and took the loss. Sophomore Marcus McMillan was a bright spot for the Panthers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing three innings, giving up one run on no hits.

Offensively, the Panthers were paced by sophomore Ahmar Donatto, who went 2-for-5 on the day with an RBI. Sophomore Landon Williams put together a noteworthy performance as well, going 2-for-4. Senior Brayden Johnson also helped out for Prairie View A&M, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers were trailing 3-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board. Prairie View A&M got an RBI single from Johnson, scoring Donatto from second base.

The Tigers expanded their lead to 5-1 before the Panthers offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the seventh. Prairie View A&M scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Donatto, which tightened the Tigers lead to 5-2. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as Grambling added one run to their tally on the way to a 6-2 final.
