PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Prairie View A&M University Athletics announced today a change in leadership for the Panthers baseball program. After nine seasons at the helm, Head Coach
Auntwan Riggins will depart from his role as the head coach.
"We are grateful to Coach Riggins for his dedication, passion, and the time he has devoted to our baseball program and student-athletes," said Prairie View A&M Director of Athletics
Anton Goff. "Coach Riggins has been an instrumental figure in shaping the lives of many young men and representing the university with class for nearly a decade. We thank him for his service and wish him all the best in his future endeavors."
Under Riggins' leadership, the Panthers achieved several key milestones, including consistent postseason appearances and the development of numerous All-SWAC selections. His commitment to student-athlete development both on and off the field has left a lasting impact on the program.
As the university looks to the future, a national search for the next head baseball coach will begin immediately.
"We are taking the program in a new direction as we continue to strive for championship-level success on and off the field," said Goff. "Our next leader will be someone who shares our vision for excellence, accountability, and student-athlete development. We look forward to identifying the right individual to lead Panther Baseball into its next chapter."
Further updates on the coaching search will be shared as they become available.
