The Prairie View A&M men's cross country team closed its season with a fourth-place finish at the SWAC Cross Country Championship on Tuesday, Oct. 27, in Tallahassee, Florida. The team scored 93 points in the race, with Thierry Garcon earning All-SWAC second-team honors with a sixth-place finish in the men's 8K race.

Garcon led the Panthers across the finish line in 25:48.9, finishing as our top individual performer. Lamar Smith followed with a time of 27:44.8, while Korey Griffith completed the course in 27:51.1. 

Marcus Lewis followed behind in 27:59.6, Messiyah Forte finishing in 28:30.4, and Eli Jacobs in 28:46.7. Jaiden Johnson rounded out our finishers in 29:40.6.

The championship brings our cross country season to a close. Our athletes now turn their attention from the 8K course to preparation for the indoor track and field season, which begins in December.
