2/1/2026 10:38:00 AM

Prairie View A&M will open its 2026 women's golf season at the Texas State Invitational, a two-day event set for Feb. 2-3 in New Braunfels, Texas. The tournament marks the Panthers' first competitive rounds of the new year and an early opportunity to measure up against a deep, predominantly Texas-based field. With three rounds scheduled over two days, the event will give Prairie View A&M an immediate test of depth, consistency and off-season preparation.

Hosted by Texas State, the invitational will feature a crowded lineup that includes Loyola University Chicago, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, St. Mary's (Texas), Creighton, Texas A&M–Corpus Christi, West Texas A&M, Tarleton State, UT Dallas, Lamar, East Texas A&M, the University of the Incarnate Word, Houston Christian and Stephen F. Austin. Match 1 on Feb. 2 is slated to begin at 8:15 a.m., followed by Match 2 the same day at 1 p.m., with the final round set for Feb. 3. Live scoring will be available online throughout the tournament, giving fans and supporters a chance to track the Panthers in real time.

Prairie View A&M is expected to lean on a core group that includes Briann Briggs, Kacey Menyoli, Nevaeh Figueroa, Micaiah Joubert, and Madison Williams.

For Prairie View A&M, the Texas State Invitational represents more than just a season opener; it is an early benchmark against a wide range of regional opponents and a chance to set the tone for 2026. Strong individual performances from Briggs, Menyoli, Figueroa, Joubert, and Williams could build confidence heading into the spring schedule, while the team's ability to post four solid scores each round will shape its outlook for the months ahead. With live results available online, the Panthers' start to the new year will be on full display from the first tee shot in New Braunfels.
