PRAIRIE VIEW - Prairie View A&M returns to action Tuesday night as it travels to Corpus Christi, Texas, for a midweek match up against the host Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders at Chapman Field.
The Islanders enter the contest 5–3 on the season after going 1–2 over the weekend while hosting the Kleberg Bank College Classic. Prairie View comes in 3–3 overall following a three-game weekend series at UIW and will look to bounce back on the road.
Offensively, the Prairie View A&M Panthers have been led by
Michael Burroughs, who is batting .409 with a home run and seven RBI.
Tyvon Moore has been a catalyst at the top of the order, hitting .391 with a team-best 1.326 OPS, 10 runs scored, and five extra-base hits, while
Corie Lockette adds a .368 average with four RBI.
On the mound, Prairie View has relied on
Isaac Herrera, who owns a 3.38 ERA with eight strikeouts in 8.0 innings and a save.
Kenneth Haynes has also missed bats with 10 strikeouts in 8.0 innings, and
Beau Beaty brings a 1–1 record into the midweek match up.
First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. as the Panthers look to secure a road win against a solid Islanders club.
