PRAIRIE VIEW-
Dontae Horne was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, earning his third weekly honor of the season, following a dominant showing in two conference road games for Prairie View A&M University.
The graduate student guard averaged 31.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals while logging 38.5 minutes per game, showcasing elite scoring production, durability, and two-way impact. Horne opened the week with 30 points in 40 minutes at Mississippi Valley State, shooting 8-of-18 from the field and 12-of-17 at the free-throw line, while adding five rebounds and a steal. He followed with a 32-point performance at Arkansas–Pine Bluff, connecting on 9-of-22 shooting, going 12-of-14 from the stripe, and contributing three assists and three steals in 37 minutes.
Consistently aggressive and efficient, Horne relentlessly attacked the rim, drew 24 made free throws, and applied defensive pressure throughout the week. Earlier this season, he was also recognized as SWAC Newcomer of the Week on January 20. His scoring load, leadership, and impact in consecutive road contests further solidified his status as one of the conference's top performers and earned him back-to-back SWAC Player of the Week honors.
