Women's Track Post Several PRs at Michael Johnson Invitational

Prairie View A&M closed out the Michael Johnson Invitational with a string of personal records and multiple top-10 finishes across two days at Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium in Waco, Texas. The meet, held April 24-25, gave the Panthers a solid set of individual results.

Day 1 was led by Prairie View A&M's work in the long jump and middle-distance events. Sanai Kintchen placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 5.85 meters, while Starrmia Dixon finished eighth at 5.73 meters. On the track, Mikyah McDonald posted a 23.76 in the 200 meters with a 3.2 meters-per-second wind reading, and Nina Story delivered one of the team's top performances of the opening day with a personal-best 4:49.25 in the 1,500 meters.

The Panthers added more notable field-event finishes on Day 2 in the jumps. Jada Stanford took eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.14 meters, followed closely by Yasmine Rogers, who was ninth at 12.06 meters. In the high jump, Mariah Turner matched her personal best by clearing 1.65 meters to place sixth, and Kimora Maxey equaled her season best at 1.60 meters.

Prairie View A&M also saw several strong performances on the track Saturday. Nikiyah Williams ran 55.58 in the 400 meters, while McDonald returned in the 100 and produced a personal-best 11.47. Treasure Bethea turned in a sixth-place finish in the 800 meters with a personal-best 2:13.77, and Story followed with another personal record, clocking 2:15.25 in the same event.

Meet results are available online, and Prairie View A&M will carry that progress into its next outing when the team competes at TCU in Fort Worth on May 1 and 2.
