Panthers Open Chicago Weekend Series Against Alabama A&M in Schaumburg

SCHAUMBERG, Ill. — The Prairie View A&M University baseball team kicks off a key weekend series in the Chicagoland area on Friday, hosting Alabama A&M University at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

First pitch for Friday's opener is set for 6:00 p.m. as the Panthers (8-34 overall, 4-17 SWAC) look to build momentum against the Bulldogs, who enter the weekend 9-36 overall and 3-18 in conference play.

The three-game set continues Saturday evening with a 7:05 p.m. start.  The weekend series serves as a precursor to a historic moment for both programs, as Prairie View A&M and Alabama A&M will later square off in the inaugurals Chicago HBCU Baseball Classic at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, on Saturday evening.

Before concluding Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., with all games taking place in Schaumburg.

That matchup will mark the first time two Historically Black Colleges and Universities compete on the iconic field, highlighting the culture, tradition, and legacy of HBCU baseball on a national stage.

Throughout the weekend, fans in the Chicagoland area will have multiple opportunities to support both programs, with the series in Schaumburg setting the tone for a celebration of HBCU excellence that continues at Wrigley Field.
