Prairie View A&M placed second overall at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate, finishing at 10-over-par as Kenneth Melendrez led the Panthers with a tie for third in the final regular-season tournament before the SWAC Championships.

The two-day event was held April 6-7 in Old Hickory, outside Nashville, Tennessee, with par set at 71. Prairie View A&M's lineup produced a steady team result, and Melendrez delivered the top individual finish after putting together rounds of even-par, 1-over and 5-under. That closing round moved him to 4-under for the tournament and into a share of third place, the best finish among the Panthers.

Gage Gallo added a tie for 15th at 4-over, giving Prairie View A&M another scorer near the top of the leaderboard. Kolawole Abudu finished tied for 21st at 6-over, while Joah Bramwell was 25th at 7-over. Blake Meredith rounded out the Panthers' group in a tie for 47th at 14-over.

Melendrez's final-round push stood out as the key individual performance of the tournament for Prairie View A&M. After opening at par and following with a 1-over second round, he surged in the third round with a 5-under score, the low point of the Panthers' weekend and the round that anchored the team's runner-up finish. With multiple golfers finishing in the top 25, Prairie View A&M paired that low round with enough depth to stay near the top of the team standings throughout the event.

The Panthers now turn their attention to the SWAC Championships, scheduled for April 13-15. Prairie View A&M will head into the conference event coming off one of its strongest team showings of the spring.
