PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Defending SWAC regular-season champion Prairie View A&M Volleyball officially opened preseason camp with energy, enthusiasm, and a clear sense of purpose as the Lady Panthers hit the court for the first day of practice under head coach Dottie Hampton.

With eight returning players and seven newcomers, Hampton said the excitement of being back in the gym was evident from the opening whistle. The first day focused on laying the foundation for the season, both on and off the court, as the team emphasized its culture, reviewed its mission and core values, and began installing offensive and defensive systems.

"The energy of the team has really stood out," Hampton said. "It's been a long summer, and you can tell they're excited to be back in the gym with volleyballs flying around again. There's been a lot of learning today, but it's been fun to watch them embrace the information and begin putting it into action."

Hampton noted that the team's preparation over the summer was apparent from the start, allowing the coaching staff to immediately begin building chemistry and cohesion. Throughout the day, the Lady Panthers concentrated on passing fundamentals, defensive positioning, blocking concepts, and game-like situations as they took the first steps toward preparing for the 2026 season.
