STATESBORO, GA --The Prairie View A&M volleyball team fell to the Eastern Kentucky Colonels 3-1 (11-25, 22-25, 25-23, 17-25) Saturday at Hanner Fieldhouse.
The non-conference loss dropped Prairie View A&M to 0-6 on the season.
The Lady Panthers offense was paced by D'Mya Hill, who finished with 17 kills on the day, and by Iyonna Sherwood, who had 11 while hitting .429. got 10 digs from Tayler Ruffin along with six blocks from Jade Smith to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Panthers fell behind early, dropping a tough first set 25-11. Prairie View A&M trailed by as many as 14 points as Eastern Kentucky grabbed the advantage for good at 4-3 in a set that was tied up three times before the Colonels took control.
SET 2 | Prairie View A&M fell in the second set 25-22, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. An overpowering defensive effort wasn't enough as the Lady Panthers lost the second set while racking up eight blocks in the set loss.
SET 3 | Prairie View A&M rallied back to pull within two sets to one, winning their first set of the match in the third stanza. The Lady Panthers won the set 25-23 propelled by a solid showing on the attacking end. Prairie View A&M registered a .405 attack percentage with 20 kills in the set win. The Lady Panthers took their first and last lead of the match at 15-14 and rode it to victory.
SET 4 | Prairie View A&M couldn't keep the rally going and fell in set four 25-17 to drop the match. The Lady Panthers lost the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before losing the set.
