LUBBOCK, Texas – Prairie View A&M was held to only four hits on Friday evening as nationally ranked Texas Tech claimed an 8-0 victory at Rip Griffin Park.

After losing a promising top of the second inning with a double play, the Panthers allowed four runs in the bottom of the second to fall behind early.  The Panthers once again saw a potential scoring opportunity fall short in the fourth with another inning-ending double play while Texas Tech crossed home a run in the sixth, seventh and two more in the eighth innings.

The series concludes on Saturday with a new time of 1 p.m. due to potential inclement weather.
