• Saturday's game marks the 19th meeting in series history as AAMU leads 10-8. PVAMU is 8-2 over AAMU dating back to 2006.
• PVAMU established a presence in 2006 with six straight wins from 2006-2010. When AAMU entered the SWAC, the teams normally met in September but the conference schedule shifted the matchup to the month of November from 2004-2011. Both teams returned to playing in September in 2012 and 2013 before moving back to November in 2014. When playing in the month of September, AAMU holds a 5-1 advantage with PVAMU's lone September win occurring in 2013 in Prairie View, Texas.
• The Panthers play eight games inside the state of Texas this season and won't leave the state until a contest at Southern on Oct. 17.
