RUSTON, La. -- The Prairie View A&M women's bowling team will open its 2020-21 campaign at the first-ever La. Tech Invite at the Lambright Bowling Alley Nov. 6-8 in Ruston, La.

"We are eagerly looking forward to our first competition of the year," Head Coach Glenn White exclaimed.  "It will certainly be a challenge for us considering the field of competition we will be up against. The team has really been working hard in practice to improve on our skills and fundamentals. Unfortunately, we were interrupted for a couple of weeks, but we have been able to get started again this week to prepare and we'll get an opportunity to gage our progress."

The Lady Panthers will compete in a seven-team field, where six of the teams are ranked in the top 25 in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Preseason Poll, including four teams ranked in the top 10.

PVAMU will open Friday, Nov. 6 in Baker matches beginning at 8 a.m. (CT), against No.7 Stephen F. Austin, followed up by a game against No. 21 University of Alabama-Birmingham. The Lady Panthers will have a chance to relax a little prior to playing against No. 5 Sam Houston State, and they close out the day versus No. 19 Tulane.

Teams will compete Saturday with traditional team matched with an 8 a.m. start.  The Lady Panthers will roll against host team No. 9 La. Tech with a 1:30 p.m. start and follow up with a match against No. 2 Vanderbilt. They will close the day with position round play prior to Sunday's final bracket round which is set to start at 7 a.m.  The teams will participate in three best four-out-of-seven Baker matches to determine team standings.  Fans can watch the matches by clicking here: https://bit.ly/3p6QsEi

Although the season ended abruptly, the Lady Panthers swept the conference in individual honors.  White led his ladies to a dominant 21-3 mark in league play. Rosales and Cline were named to the SWAC's All-Conference First Team. Rosales had a standout season as she was named SWAC Freshman and Bowler of the Year.
