PRAIRIE VIEW – The Prairie View A&M Bowling program has placed the entire team of outstanding scholar-athletes on the National Tenpin Coaches Association's (NTCA) All-Academic Team.

Glenn White. "When you consider the strenuous schedules they have as student athletes with conditioning, practice, class etc., not to mention the extensive travel associated with our competition, I commend them for being so committed to making sure that they continue to make academics a priority."
The NTCA recognizes student-athletes who as maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.4 or higher during the 2021-22 academic year. Seniors
Crystal Cline (Katy, Texas),
Asia Wren (Round Rock, Texas) junior
Stephanie Vasquez (Hollister, Calif.), graduate student
Ivelisse Reyes (Spring, Texas), sophomore
Ashlyn Okazaki (Honolulu, HI), freshmen
Victoria Cobos (Brownsville, Texas) and
Amani Moore (Fort Worth, Texas) each earned recognition from the NTCA.
Women's bowling continues to be on a rise as there were 397 honorees, representing NCAA bowling programs at 67 schools. For Cline and Wren, this is their fourth straight year, this makes the third consecutive year for Vasquez and second for Reyes and Okazaki that they have garnered All-Academic honors. Moore and Cobos, as freshman, has earned the distinction for the first time.
Additionally, The National Tenpin Coaches Association recognizes NCAA bowling teams that excel academically each year. Programs must have a cumulative team GPA of a 3.2 or higher for the academic school year and be a current member of the NTCA. There were 52 bowling programs that achieved a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher. The Lady Panthers achieved the third best GPA overall schools behind Delaware State (1) and Youngstown (2
nd). Prairie View A&M along with Alabama A&M, Jackson State and Texas Southern were the amongst the schools represented from the Southwestern Athletic Conference, who's achievements were recognized.
The Lady Panthers were just as impressive off the lanes as they were off of it, posting a team high GPA of 3.771, while also winning the 2022 SWAC regular season championship for a fourth time in five years.
