Panthers hold Lincoln U. to 63 yards in 38-0 Homecoming win

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --Behind a dominant defensive effort that kept the Lincoln offense to 63 total yards, Prairie View A&M knocked off the 38-0 at home Saturday afternoon.

The victory improved Prairie View A&M's record to 6-2 on the season while the fell to 0-7.

Cameron Peters led Prairie View A&M's passing attack with 243 yards through the air, tossing two touchdowns without throwing an interception. The signal caller also added 23 yards and one touchdown on the ground.

Lamagea McDowell paced the Panthers rushing attack by accumulating 47 yards over the course of the game, averaging 6.7 yards per carry. Chase Bingmon also added 42 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, averaging 7 yards per carry.

Jyzaiah Rockwell pulled in three catches for 104 yards and one score. Andre Dennis made his presence felt in the passing game, recording four receptions for 72 yards.

Sterling Roberts paced the Prairie View A&M defensive effort, recording three tackles, 1.0 TFL, one sack, one forced fumble, and one recovered fumble. Trinity Ward added one recovered fumble and Matthew Moore had 1.0 TFL and one sack in the win.

The Panthers won the turnover battle in Saturday's game, forcing two turnovers while avoiding any giveways, with Prairie View A&M turning those takeaways into 14 points. Prairie View A&M converted on 57.1 percent of third-down attempts on the day.

Defensively, Prairie View A&M put together a stifling performance against the offensive attack, holding the to 63 total yards.
