Prairie View A&M Football returns home Saturday, November 15 for a pivotal SWAC West showdown as the Panthers host the Arkansas–Pine Bluff Golden Lions at Panther Stadium. PVAMU enters the contest at 7–3 overall and 5–1 in SWAC play, looking to maintain its position at the top of the division race.
The Panthers come in with momentum after a dominant 48–5 road victory over Alabama A&M last week in Huntsville. Prairie View delivered one of its most complete performances of the season on both sides of the ball, with senior quarterback Cameron Peters throwing for 394 yards and five touchdowns, and wide receiver Jyzaiah Rockwell turning in another standout performance as the Panthers' leading receiving threat.
Defensively, Prairie View controlled the game from start to finish, holding the Bulldogs to just five points and under 200 total yards. The unit continues to be one of the most improved in the conference, applying consistent pressure and forcing key stops throughout SWAC play.
This afternoon, PVAMU turns its attention to a UAPB team looking to play spoiler down the stretch. The Golden Lions and Panthers first met in 1951, and Prairie View has won four of the last five meetings in the series, including their most recent matchup. With SWAC West implications on the line, both teams enter aiming to finish the regular season strong.
Prairie View's offense continues to grow under first-year head coach Tremaine Jackson, who has guided the Panthers to one of the best starts in the division. Alongside Peters and Rockwell, the Panthers will rely on playmakers like Ja'Koby Banks, Chase Bingmon, and a defensive group anchored by Malik Gucake, Sterling Roberts, Travor Randle, and Kamren Amao.
A win tomorrow would move Prairie View one step closer to securing a place in the 2025 SWAC Football Championship Game, with only one regular-season game remaining after tomorrow.
