PRAIRIE VIEW  - The Prairie View A&M men's basketball team is set to open the 2025-26 campaign on Monday, Nov. 3, hosting the College of Biblical Studies at 12 p.m. inside the Baby Dome. The season opener marks the first of two early home contests before the Panthers embark on a challenging non-conference slate.

Head Coach Byron Smith enters his ninth season at the helm, continuing to build upon the program's championship tradition and competitive edge within the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). With a balanced roster of returning veterans and promising newcomers, the Panthers look to establish early rhythm and chemistry as they begin their pursuit of another SWAC title run.

"We're excited to finally get back on the floor in front of our fans," said Smith. "The first game always sets the tone for the season, and we want to play with energy, discipline, and pride. Our guys have worked hard all summer and fall, and now it's time to put it all together."

Prairie View A&M will look to showcase its trademark defensive pressure and up-tempo offensive attack that has become a staple of Smith's teams. Several key newcomers are expected to anchor the lineup, bringing leadership and experience to a group eager to defend its home court.

The match up with the College of Biblical Studies provides the Panthers an opportunity to fine-tune rotations and test new combinations before heading into a demanding stretch that includes several non-conference road games against regional and national opponents.

Tip off is set for 12 p.m. at the Baby Dome. Fans unable to attend can watch live at https://bit.ly/4372cfB or follow live stats at https://bit.ly/48TCK0O.
