CORPUS CHRISTI, TX --The Prairie View A&M Panthers had a tough showing on Friday, falling to the Texas A&MCC Islanders by final score of 14-4.
Sophomore Landyn Grant (1-2) started and took the loss on the mound for Prairie View A&M (4-6).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers were trailing 3-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Prairie View A&M plated two runs when sophomore Michael Smith left the yard with senior Jayden Williams aboard.
The Islanders expanded their lead to 8-2 before the Panthers offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the fifth. Freshman Sonnier Moses came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M, which tightened the Islanders lead to 8-3.
Texas A&M-CC expanded their lead to 11-3 before the Prairie View A&M offense got going, reducing that lead to 11-4 in the seventh. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as Texas A&M-CC added three runs to their tally on the way to a 14-4 final.
