TALLAHASSEE, FL --Though they had plenty of opportunities, Prairie View A&M struggled to cash them in, leaving 10 Panthers on base in a 7-2 defeat at the hands of the Florida A&M Rattlers on Sunday.
At the plate, the Panthers were led by sophomore A. Donatto, who went 1-for-4 on the day with a double, a walk and an RBI. Senior M. Heiskell compiled a noteworthy effort as well, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Sophomore Jo. Williams also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers were trailing 2-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Prairie View A&M got an RBI single from Heiskell, scoring Williams from second base.
The Rattlers expanded their lead to 7-1 before the Panthers offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the ninth. Prairie View A&M pushed across a run on Donatto's one-out RBI double, which tightened the Rattlers lead to 7-2. The ballgame ended with that ninth inning rally falling short.
