Prairie View A&M falls to SFA despite late lead

NACOGDOCHES, TX --The Prairie View A&M Panthers took a 6-4 lead into the seventh inning, but could not hang on and fell 9-6 to the SFA 'Jacks Tuesday.

Leonardo Bravo (2-2) came out of the bullpen for Prairie View A&M (8-27) and took the loss.

Offensively, the Panthers were paced by Ayden Heinz, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double and three RBI. Michael Smith furnished a noteworthy effort as well, going 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk, and an RBI. Brayden Johnson also helped out for Prairie View A&M, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers got on the scoreboard first, starting in the second inning. Prairie View A&M scored twice on a two-run double off the bat of Heinz.

The Panthers then lost some of their lead, expanding on their advantage in the fifth inning after the 'Jacks cut it to 2-1. which brought the Panthers lead to 5-1.

SFA narrowed Prairie View A&M's lead to 5-2 before the Panthers stretched the advantage to 6-2 in the sixth inning. The Panthers scored once on an RBI single off the bat of. The Panthers were unable to hold the lead, as SFA scored seven times over the remaining three innings to grab the 9-6 win.
