NACOGDOCHES, TX --An explosive offensive output was not enough for Prairie View A&M on Tuesday. The Panthers tallied five runs, but could not hold the SFA Ladyjacks at bay, and were bested 7-5.
M. Martinez (1-5) started the game for Prairie View A&M (20-18) and took the loss.
At the plate, the Panthers were paced by J. Thomas, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a home run and two RBI. D. McKinley delivered a noteworthy performance, going 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBI. A. Talley also contributed to Prairie View A&M's effort, recording two hits in three at-bats.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers were trailing 1-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Prairie View A&M plated two runs when Thomas left the yard with R. Green aboard.
The Panthers lost the lead they built in the second but got back on the board in the fourth trailing 5-2. Prairie View A&M scored three runs in the frame, buoyed by a two-run triple from McKinley, which evened the score at 5-5. SFA then scored two times over the remaining three innings to break the tie and grab the 7-5 win.
