BEAUMONT, Texas --Prairie View A&M received contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, but the Panthers fell to the Lamar Cardinals 14-3 Wednesday.
Junior Jeffrey Polledo (0-1) started and took the loss on the mound for Prairie View A&M (8-31).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers got the scoring started early, putting two runs on the board in the top of the first inning. Prairie View A&M scored twice on a two-run double off the bat of freshman Mac Bowie.
The Cardinals then rallied to score 13 runs and take a 13-2 lead before the Panthers got back on the board in the fifth. Freshman Sonnier Moses came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M, which brought the score to 13-3 in favor of the Cardinals. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as Lamar added one run to their tally on the way to a 14-3 final.
