GAME 1 | Prairie View A&M 5, Grambling 4
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers rallied to score three in the seventh inning and walked it off with junior Dyani McKinley at the plate to pick up the 5-4 win over the Grambling Tigers Saturday.
Senior Cailin Massey (9-5) got the win for Prairie View A&M (23-19, 18-3). The right-hander went 2.2 shutout innings without giving up a hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers were trailing 1-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board. Freshman Kearstin Tinsley came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M and get them on the board.
The Tigers then scored three runs to retake their advantage heading into the fifth inning, when the Panthers responded by getting back on the scoreboard themselves. Prairie View A&M picked up a run on senior Aerin Talley's one-out solo home run off of freshman Richardson, which brought the score to 4-2 in favor of the Tigers.
Prairie View A&M kept its deficit in check, holding Grambling scoreless before scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim victory, walking it off when junior Nya Brown came across to score.

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed from there on the way to a 5-2 victory over the Grambling Tigers on Saturday.
Freshman Brielle Moreno (9-5) got the win for Prairie View A&M (25-19, 19-3). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on six hits, allowing no walks and striking out one.
In the batter's box, the Panthers were led by junior Dyani McKinley, who went 3-for-3 on the day with a walk and an RBI. Sophomore Jade Uresti put together a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI. Freshman Michelle Meeks also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding two RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the bottom of the first inning. Prairie View A&M scored three runs in the frame, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Meeks.
The Tigers failed to push any runs across before the Panthers offense got back to their scoring ways the next inning. Prairie View A&M scored once on an RBI single off the bat of McKinley, which brought the score to 4-0 in favor of the Panthers.
Grambling narrowed Prairie View A&M's lead to 4-2 before the Panthers stretched the advantage to 5-2 in the sixth inning. The Panthers recorded a run on Uresti's two-out RBI double. The score remained 5-2 for the rest of the game, as Prairie View A&M held on for the win.
