The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers made their presence known during the 2024 cross country season, with breakout performances from new and returning runners. SWAC Championships – 3rd Place Finish
The Lady Panthers secured a third-place finish at the 2024 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Cross Country Championships, held on October 21 at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida. The team posted a score of 86 points, placing them among the conference's elite.
This performance highlighted PVAMU's balanced depth and tight team spread in a competitive field.
SWAC Runner of the Week
Lea Murphy was named SWAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on October 8, after running 19:27.2 at the DBU Old Glory Gallop.
The freshman's standout race earned her conference-wide recognition and marked her emergence as one of the SWAC's top newcomers.
Rice Invitational – 5th Place Team Finish
At the 48th Rice Invitational on September 13, the Lady Panthers placed 5th overall in the 4,000m race—competing against top regional programs and showcasing their team cohesion.
The race served as a mid-season benchmark and built momentum heading into the championship phase of the season.
