Panthers Push Through Midweek Practice Under Jackson’s Standard

PRAIRIE VIEW – With camp nearing its final stretch, the Prairie View A&M Panthers continued to grind through midweek practice under the direction of first-year head coach Tremaine Jackson.

"Today's practice was good it was more good than bad," Jackson said. "I feel like the guys did a good job of digging themselves out. The way that we practice, you have to bring it every day, and sometimes those guys focus on being tired instead of focusing on being enthusiastic."

Jackson acknowledged that this season is a new experience for everyone, with players adjusting to the culture and tempo set by the new coaching staff.

"Being that this is our first season, some of these guys come from other places and they don't practice like that," Jackson explained. "While we are in camp, we are working. There will be a point where we recover, but for now we have to keep pushing. When it comes to game time and we go into the fourth quarter, we need to teach ourselves what playing in December feels like."

The Panthers will hold their second scrimmage of camp this weekend, a session Jackson hopes will show continued growth.

"I look forward to seeing that ascending arrow go up and us getting better and better," he said. "I also look forward to our alumni football players coming back together and the team mixing and mingling with them. It's going to be a great weekend for Panther Football."
