PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The wait is over as the Prairie View A&M Panthers officially report for 2026 Fall Camp, marking the beginning of preparations for an exciting new football season under second-year head coach
Tremaine Jackson.
The Panthers will begin several weeks of preseason practices focused on building team chemistry, installing offensive and defensive schemes, and preparing for the challenges of the upcoming Southwestern Athletic Conference schedule. Returning veterans and a talented group of newcomers will compete for roster spots and playing time as the program continues its pursuit of another SWAC championship.
The 2026 season begins on Sunday, Sept. 6, when the Panthers host Texas Southern in the annual Labor Day Classic at 11:00 a.m. inside Panther Stadium. The rivalry is one of the premier matchups in HBCU football and will once again serve as the opening chapter of Prairie View A&M's season.
Leading up to kickoff, Prairie View A&M Athletics will host its annual Labor Day Classic Press Conference on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Panther Room. Members of the media are invited to attend for remarks from Coach Jackson, and Texas Southern's head football coach Chris Dishman, along with information regarding game week activities.
As Prairie View A&M celebrates its 150th Anniversary, the 2026 football season represents another opportunity to build on a proud tradition while embracing the future of Panther Football.
