Men's and Women's Track & Field Showcases Talent at Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational

HOUSTON, TX – The Prairie View A&M Panthers delivered commendable performances at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational held at the University of Houston's Yeoman Fieldhouse on January 10, 2025. Both the men's and women's teams from the Panthers track and field teams contended robustly against a host of competitors, marking their presence with several standout individual achievements.

In the men's category, significant performances included Devin Miller securing 4th place in the high jump, reaching a mark of 2.00m. Darryl Muckelroy matched this feat in the pole vault with an equally impressive 4.45m. On the track, Bryce McFadden clinched 8th in the 200 meters with a time of 22.12 seconds, while Caleb Atkinson-Harrison and Kendon Hill took the 7th and 8th spots in the 400 meters, clocking in at 50.92 and 51.06 seconds, respectively.

The women's team also demonstrated their prowess, highlighted by Savoria Anderson's remarkable 2nd place finish in the triple jump, achieving a distance of 11.82 meters. Treasure Bethea added to the accolades with a 5th place finish in the 600-yard run, timing 1:28.48. In the sprint categories, Sanai Kintchen finished 8th in both the 60m and 60m hurdles, clocking a time of 7.80 and 8.74, respectively. De'Niya Gravely sped to a 7th place finish in the 60 meters with a time of 7.77.

As the Prairie View A&M Panthers regroup and prepare, their next competition looms on the horizon - the HBCU Showcase in New York, NY at The Armory on January 18, 2025. The Panthers look to carry forward their momentum and achieve further successes in the upcoming contest.
