HOUSTON, TEXAS – The Prairie View A&M Panthers delivered an exceptional performance at the FasTrak Indoor Challenge held at Yeoman Fieldhouse on January 25, marking a day filled with personal bests and top finishes for both the men's and women's track and field teams.
Leading the charge for the women's team,
Zara Richardson clinched first place in the 600-yard run with an impressive time of 1:28.52, closely followed by teammate
Lea Murphy who secured second place with a time of 1:28.58.
Lashavia Barclay and
De'Niya Gravely added to the team's haul, taking third in the 60-meter hurdles and 60-meter dash respectively. Gravely also achieved a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter race. Additional notable performances included
Jasir Miller's third-place finish in the 600-yard,
Nikiyah Williams' seventh place in the 400-meter,
Morgan Davila's sixth place in the high jump, and
Kaylan Woodrow's sixth position in the weight throw.
The men's team also saw standout performances, with
Isaiah Barnes winning the 200-meter dash in 21.74 seconds.
Devin Miller and
Christion Derrick made notable contributions, securing second places in the high jump and 200-meter dash respectively, with Derrick also placing fourth in the 60-meter.
Bryce McFadden's efforts in the 200-meter added a fourth-place finish, while the men's 4x400 relay team captured third with a time of 3:22.05.
Arrion Knight contributed a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, rounding out a strong showing for the Panthers.

Looking ahead, the Panthers are set to compete next at the University of New Mexico on February 1 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As the team builds on their successes, the next event promises to be another exciting chapter in the Panthers' season.
