Men's Track and Field Completes Season Opener at Harvard Classic

The Prairie View A&M Panthers men's Track and Field team displayed commendable performances at the Harvard Classic in Cambridge, Massachusetts on December 6, 2025. This event marked the first indoor meet of the season for the Panthers, featuring a series of notable individual achievements.

Thierry Garcon made a significant impact by finishing 9th in the mile with a time of 4:28.11. In the 500m, Sebastian Cruz secured a strong 2nd place finish with a time of 1:04.28, illustrating the depth and talent present in the team. Eric Brooks also showed commendable speed, taking 6th place in the 200m with a time of 22.42. Further demonstrating the Panthers' prowess in sprint events, Ronzell Woods and Joshua Gayden, both qualified for the finals in their respective events. Woods finished 6th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.41, while Gayden also finished 6th in the 60m sprint with a time of 6.99.

The field events also saw significant successes. Devin Miller finished 3rd in the high jump, clearing a height of 2.05m. Moreover, Darryl Muckelroy's performance in the pole vault was a standout, as he secured 2nd place with a mark of 4.06m.

The Prairie View A&M Panthers anticipate their next event, the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational in Houston, Texas, scheduled for January 10, 2026, where they aim to build on their early season successes.
