All Prairie View A&M takes both games against Huston-Tillotson

GAME 1 | Prairie View A&M 8, Huston-Tillotson 1
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --Prairie View A&M got contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, helping the Panthers put eight runs on the board and beat the Huston-Tillotson Rams 8-1 Tuesday.

Senior Leonardo Bravo (1-0) started on the mound and picked up the win for Prairie View A&M (3-5). The right-hander went five innings, giving up one run on three hits, allowing no walks and striking out two. Senior Seve Medrano also made an impact on the mound for the Panthers, throwing one shutout inning while allowing no hits, with no walks and two strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Sophomore Landon Williams put Prairie View A&M on the board with a two-out solo home run off sophomore Jonathon Ovalle.

The Panthers then held the Rams scoreless before getting back on the board the very next inning. The Prairie View A&M offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a three-run home run off the bat of freshman Mac Bowie, which brought the score to 5-0 in favor of the Panthers.

Prairie View A&M held Huston-Tillotson without a run before expanding their lead to 7-0 the following inning.

The Rams gained ground, closing the gap to 7-1 until Prairie View A&M added some insurance in the fourth. The Panthers sent in a run on freshman Corie Lockette's two-out RBI double, bringing the score to 8-1 in favor of Prairie View A&M. The score remained 8-1 for the rest of the game, as the Panthers coasted to the win.

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --Freshman Kamar Dove, junior Trace Sanchez and senior Camden Farmer combined to throw a shutout on Tuesday as the Prairie View A&M Panthers blanked the Huston-Tillotson Rams 7-0.

Dove (2-0) started and picked up the win for Prairie View A&M (4-5, ), going five shutout innings while giving up one hit, walking none, and striking out two. Farmer was dealing out of the bullpen as well, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit.

Offensively, the Panthers were led by sophomore Ahmar Donatto, who went 2-for-2 on the day with a triple, a home run and two RBI. Sophomore Landon Williams put together a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Freshman C. Lockette also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding a triple.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Prairie View A&M scored twice, with one run coming across on sophomore Jordan Williams' single.

The Panthers then tacked on runs in the second and fourth innings, with their biggest output coming in the second when they scored four times. The big hit in that inning was a one-run single off the bat of senior Trenton Bush.
