Panthers Claim Three 1st Place Finishes at the FasTrak Indoor Challenge

HOUSTON, TEXAS — The Prairie View A&M Panthers displayed impressive performances in both track and field events at the FasTrak Indoor Challenge on February 8, 2025, at the Yeoman Fieldhouse in Houston, Texas.

In the track events, Eric Brooks led the way for the men's team by securing first place in the 200m dash with a time of 21.72 seconds. Bryce McFadden followed closely, claiming third in the same event at 21.92 seconds. In the hurdles, Arrion Knight and Anthony Mangram advanced to the finals in the 60m hurdles, with Knight finishing fifth in 8.52 seconds and Mangram sixth in 8.55 seconds.

For the women's team, Jasir Miller showcased her speed by finishing third in the 400m race with a timing of 57.79 seconds. Miracle Price added to the team's points by placing sixth in the 800m run at 2:23.36. Additionally, the women's 4x400m relay team, consisting of Treasure Bethea, Jasir Miller, Jai'lyn Smith, and Nikiyah Williams, secured a strong second-place finish with a time of 3:51.67.

The field events also saw Panthers topping the charts. Devin Miller stood out by winning the men's high jump at 2.05 meters. Jaden Harris demonstrated versatility by securing second in the triple jump at 14.66 meters and placing sixth in the long jump at 6.60 meters. In the women's competitions, Keonna Otis claimed the top spot in the shot put with a throw of 13.99 meters, leading a strong showing in the field.

With these stellar performances, the Prairie View A&M Panthers look ahead to their next challenge at the Jarvis Scott Open scheduled for February 14-15, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas.
