Moreno and Elizarraras combine for shutout in Prairie View A&M's 1-0 victory over UAPB on Walk-off Hit

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- Junior Brielle Moreno and senior Halley Elizarraras combined to toss a shutout on Friday as the Prairie View A&M Panthers blanked the UAPB Lady Lions 1-0 after a walk-off hit by Isabela Rodriguez to secure the win.

Moreno started in the circle for Prairie View A&M (11-13, 5-1), going eight shutout innings while giving up three hits, walking five, and striking out one. Elizarraras (1-0) picked up the win out of the bullpen and went one shutout inning, allowing one hit.

Offensively, the Panthers were led by sophomore Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double and an RBI. Freshman Kearstin Tinsley put together a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-4. Freshman Kayla Zaid also helped out for Prairie View A&M, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The game stayed scoreless until the bottom half of the ninth, when Prairie View A&M walked it off on Rodriguez's one-out RBI double.
