The Prairie View A&M University Women's Track and Field team delivered standout performances at the Little Rock Invitational. Held in Little Rock, Arkansas, the event saw several Panthers set personal records and achieve top finishes in a competitive collegiate setting.
In the running and racing categories,
Jasir Miller and
Janiya Wilkins both set personal records in the 200m, with times of 24.82 and 24.84 respectively. Miller also impressed in the 400m, clocking a facility's second-fastest record time of 55.18, while
Nikiyah Williams and
Treasure Bethea recorded personal bests of 57.58 and 57.59. The 800m race featured
Zara Richardson taking second place with a time of 2:12.83, closely followed by
Lea Murphy's strong finish at 2:17.96. In hurdling events,
Lashavia Barclay secured second place in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.5 and placed fourth in the 400m hurdles at 1:02.59.
The field events also highlighted exceptional achievements.
Madison Muckelroy led the high jump contingent with a new personal record of 1.60 meters, tying for third place alongside teammate Morgan Davilla, while
Raina Thomas and
Demaya Malone also performed admirably, clearing 1.60m and 1.55m respectively. In the long jump,
Savoria Anderson won second place with a personal best of 5.84 meters and clinched first in the triple jump at 12.59 meters.
Keonna Otis showcased her skills in shot put and discus, finishing third in the former with a throw of 13.79 meters and second in the latter at 45.78 meters.
With this invitational wrapped up, the Panthers look forward to continuing their success at the upcoming Fred Duckett Invitational at Rice University in Houston, Texas on April 26, 2025.
