GAME 1 | Prairie View A&M 8, Texas Southern 1
HOUSTON, Texas --Senior A. Talley collected four RBIs to help lead the Prairie View A&M Panthers past the Texas Southern Tigers 8-1 on Friday.
Senior M. Martinez (2-5) got the win for Prairie View A&M (22-18, 16-3). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up one run on four hits, allowing one walk and striking out three.
Talley went 2-for-3 with a home run in addition to her four RBIs for the Panthers. Senior J. Thomas furnished a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-4 with two RBI. Freshman H. Comeaux also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the second inning. Prairie View A&M scored three times, all of them coming across on a three-run homer off the bat of Talley.
The Panthers then held the Tigers scoreless before expanding their lead in the fourth inning. Prairie View A&M scored once on a run-scoring single off the bat of Comeaux, which brought the Panthers lead to 4-0.
Texas Southern narrowed Prairie View A&M's lead to 4-1 before the Panthers stretched the advantage to 5-1 in the sixth inning. The Panthers scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Talley.
Prairie View A&M kept the Tigers scoreless before their offense got things rolling the next inning. The three-run fram for the Panthers was puncuated by a Thomas. bringing the Prairie View A&M advantage to 8-1. The score remained 8-1 for the rest of the game, as the Panthers coasted to the win.

HOUSTON, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers took a 4-0 lead in the second inning and never trailed from there on the way to a 7-3 win against the Texas Southern Tigers on Saturday.
Senior H. Elizarrar (4-1) started in the circle and picked up the win for Prairie View A&M (23-18, 17-3). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up three runs, all of them earned, on six hits, allowing one walk and striking out one.
Offensively, the Panthers were led by freshman H. Comeaux, who went 1-for-2 on the day with three RBI. Senior J. Thomas put together a standout day at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with a double. Junior D. McKinley also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a double and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers got on the scoreboard first, starting in the second inning. Prairie View A&M's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a one-run groundout off the bat of junior N. Brown.
The Panthers then lost some of their lead, expanding on their advantage in the third inning after the Tigers cut it to 4-2. Prairie View A&M managed to push across two runs in the inning, which brought the Panthers lead to 6-2.
