Prairie View A&M Panthers Shine at the J Fred Duckett Twilight Meet

Prairie View A&M's women's track and field team had a strong showing at the J Fred Duckett Twilight Meet, hosted by Rice University on April 26, 2025. The Panthers competed fiercely, earning multiple top positions and personal bests in a variety of events.

In the 400m, Jasir Miller led the Panthers with a fourth-place finish, clocking a time of 55.49 seconds. Treasure Bethea followed closely, setting a personal record of 56.36 seconds for fifth place. Nikiyah Williams also ran a personal record, finishing ninth with a time of 57.46 seconds. In the 800m, Zara Richardson took fourth place with a time of 2:12.46. Maya Clark achieved personal bests in two events, with a time of 12:39.36 in the 3000m steeplechase and 2:17.40 in the 800m.

The Panthers also demonstrated their prowess in field events. De'Niya Gravely secured sixth place in the triple jump with a jump of 11.84m, while Keonna Otis claimed fourth in the discus throw reaching a distance of 47.30m.

Christina Fitzpatrick and Kamara Bradley showcased resilience in the 1500m. Fitzpatrick ran a season's best time of 5:07.79, and Bradley finished the race in 5:15.83.

In hurdle events, Sanai Kintchen and Lashavia Barclay performed admirably. Kintchen placed fifth with a time of 14.64 seconds, edging out Barclay who finished right behind in 14.78 seconds, placing her sixth.
