Women's Track Leads Day Two at SWAC Outdoor Championships

The women's track and field team showcased a strong performance as they currently lead the SWAC Outdoor Championships with 66.5 points at the end of the second day of the event. The championships are taking place at the A.W. Mumford Stadium at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Several team members stood out with exceptional performances. Zara Richardson highlighted the day by qualifying for the finals in the 800m with a season's best time of 2:11.71. Another notable performance came from Lea Murphy, who placed 5th in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:16.60, followed closely by Maya Clark who set a new personal record of 12:21.32, finishing 6th.

Sanai Kintchen was a standout performer by securing 2nd place in the heptathlon with a total of 4576 points. Kintchen excelled across the board in the heptathlon, placing first in the 100m hurdles and performing strongly in other events like the shot put and high jump.

In the field events, Madison Muckelroy placed second in the pole vault clearing 3.33m and finished fourth in the high jump at 1.57m. Morgan Davila also scored in the women's high jump and pole vault, finishing 5th and 8th, respectively. Also in the pole vault, Jaliyah Gray took 4th in 3.03m and Jordyn Hubbert scored for the team finishing in 6th. In the shot put, three athletes placed, with Keonna Otis taking second with a mark of 14.10m. Michaela Booker and Krislyn Green followed pursuit, finishing fourth and fifth in the shot put, respectively.
