Panthers Close Indoor Regular Season with Records at Jarvis Scott Invite

2/14/2026 6:37:00 PM

Prairie View A&M closed its indoor regular season on a high note at the two-day Jarvis Scott Invite in Lubbock, Texas, highlighted by an individual school record in the 400 meters and a record-setting performance in the men's 4x400-meter relay at the Texas Tech-hosted meet on Feb. 13-14.

The biggest individual mark of the weekend came on Day 1, when Detrevyon Goudeau clocked an indoor school-record time of 46.20 seconds in the 400 meters. His performance not only reset the Prairie View A&M standard but also earned him a runner-up finish in a strong field. Goudeau's race capped a solid first day for the Panthers, who used the meet as their final tune-up before the Southwestern Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.

Prairie View A&M also saw a standout effort in the 60-meter hurdles, where Anthony Mangran equaled the 10th-fastest time in program history. Mangran crossed the line in 8.39 seconds, adding a historical mark to the Panthers' hurdles records and demonstrating important depth in the sprint-hurdle group heading into championship week.

Middle-distance and sprint depth continued to show on Day 1. In the 800 meters, Sebastian Cruz posted a time of 1:54.26, delivering a competitive mark as he prepares for conference competition in Birmingham. In the 400 meters, Bryce McFadden ran 47.90 and A'Isayah Brown finished in 49.61, giving Prairie View A&M three key contributors in the one-lap event between Goudeau, McFadden and Brown.

Day 2 belonged to the relay squad, as the men's 4x400-meter relay of McFadden, Goudeau, Brown and Cruz combined to set an indoor school record. The quartet stopped the clock in 3:10.78, lowering the Panthers' indoor standard and reinforcing the relay as one of the program's strongest events heading into the postseason. The performance capped a weekend in which Prairie View A&M's sprinters and middle-distance runners delivered both fast times and record-book revisions.

With the Jarvis Scott Invite marking the final regular-season meet of the indoor campaign, Prairie View A&M now turns its attention to the SWAC Indoor Championships, scheduled for Feb. 21-22 in Birmingham, Alabama. The Panthers will carry momentum from their record-setting weekend into the conference meet, where athletes such as Goudeau, Mangran, McFadden, Brown and Cruz are poised to factor prominently in Prairie View A&M's push for points on the conference stage.
